Australian Sailing is pleased to announce the appointment of the following support staff roles for this year’s Youth Class World Championships, which are scheduled to take place from July to August 2022.
“There is a fantastic mix of highly experienced coaches, along with a number of local, young up and coming coaches among those announced today,” said Ken Lynch, Australian Sailing’s National Performance Pathways Manager.
“These regattas offer young sailors and the appointed coaches the opportunity to access environments, to learn and develop an understanding of what competing for Australia internationally will require of them in the future.”
The appointments cover the Australian Sailing Youth Team (ASYT) and Youth Class World Championships.
“We value the partnership approach with Class Associations in ensuring athletes entering into the pathway have a positive development experience,” continued Lynch.
“Learning to compete in bigger fleets, experiencing international competition and being involved in a squad based approach to development have all been identified as important to address as athletes look to transition into performance pathways.”” said Ken Lynch – National Performance Pathways Manager.
