Australian Sailing is delighted to announce The Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania as naming rights partner of the 2019 Australian Youth Championships.

There will be a lot to look forward to on the shores of Sandy Bay in January, where the 2019 installment of Australia’s premier youth regatta will be hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania. The event will now also be supported by the Australian Maritime College, who are the national leader in maritime education, training and research. AMC are also based in Tasmania and share an existing partnership both with Australian Sailing, and the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney who also partner with Australian Sailing on delivering the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame.

John Lee, CEO of Australian Sailing, is excited to welcome the Australian Maritime College as naming rights partner of this extremely important event on the Australian Sailing calendar.  

“The Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania are already an outstanding supporter of Australian Sailing and some of the most talented young sailors in the country. We are extremely pleased to be extending that partnership to now have their support for the upcoming 2019 Australian Youth Championships. AMC are a globally renowned Maritime University with a distinct link to our youth sailors, so it’s great to have their support for this event.” said Mr Lee.

Principal of the Australian Maritime College, Associate Professor Shuhong Chai, echoed Mr Lee’s thoughts.

“The Australian Maritime College are proud to be partnering with Australian Sailing as the naming rights sponsor for the 2019 Australian Youth Sailing Championships. We’re honoured to support this fantastic competition. For over three decades, AMC has continuously fostered each generation’s passion for the maritime industry.”

The 2019 Australian Youth Championships presented by The Australian Maritime College will be held from 10 -14 January, where over 200 up and coming Sailors aged up to 19 years of age will be battling it out across the five days.
