Selection Policy for Australian Sailing Youth Team released

Australian Sailing has released the official selection policy for the 2020 World Youth Sailing Championships. Australia has a strong history of success at the Youth Worlds, with three medals collected in 2019 including a gold in the Nacra 15 class.


The 2020 World Youth Sailing Championship will be held in Salvador, Brazil from 12-19 December 2020.


The Events to be included in the 2020 World Youth Sailing Championship are:


•    Girls Single Handed Event: Laser Radial Class
•    Boys Single Handed Event: Laser Radial Class
•    Girls Double Handed Event: 420 Class
•    Boys Double Handed Event: 420 Class
•    Girls Skiff event: 29er Class
•    Boys Skiff event: 29er Class
•    Girls Sail Board Event: TBC  (to be confirmed from WS)
•    Boys Sail Board Event: TBC (to be confirmed from WS)
•    Mixed Multihull Event: Nacra 15 Class

This year eligible athletes will be selected off their results at both their class National Championships and at the 2020 Australian Youth Championships, with the expection of the sail board event which will be selected off the Australian Youth Championships.   The Australian Youth Championships will be held from the 10-14 January at the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club.
