SailGP is adrenaline-fueled racing as eight national teams led by the sports’ best athletes go head to head in supercharged and high-tech F50 catamarans for a winner-takes-all $1 million prize. Judging by the first six events of the SailGP Season 2, we can expect nothing but sheer emotion and drama as we welcome SailGP to Sydney Harbour on 17 and 18 December 2021.

SailGP Inspire

SailGP is, however, much more than just another sailing event. SailGP exists to make our sport better and use it as a platform for a better planet. SailGP Inspire, the event’s community, education and outreach initiative, brings this to life.

By providing equal and life-changing opportunities, SailGP Inspire helps to diversify the sport of sailing. Partnering with World Sailing, national sailing federations such as Australian Sailing, and local community sailing clubs and programmes, enables SailGP Inspire to bring sailing and Powered by Nature mentality close to young people, students and aspiring sailors regardless of their race, gender or socio-economic status.

Inspire Racing

SailGP Inspire comprises of three innovative pathways. One of them is Inspire Racing that aims to make sailing more accessible as we #RaceForTheFuture. Inspire Racing connects young local sailors with the pinnacle of the sport by bringing them behind the scenes, meeting the world’s best athletes and taking part in a racing program on the F50 race course, in front of massive crowds.

Who can participate? 
RS x Inspire (Under 15yrs) and Waszp x Inspire (Under 21yrs), energetic sailors with sailing experience, and more importantly, those who are willing to learn new skills, have a positive attitude towards the sport, are ambitious and are ready to give their best on Sydney Harbour. Inspire Racing aims to keep a gender balance across all of its programs.
