Australian sailors have acquitted themselves well at the European Laser 4.7 Championships, which concluded in Patras, Greece, last weekend.

Despite contending with varying conditions throughout the regatta, the half-dozen strong contingent competed strongly, including a podium placing for youngster Brooke Wilson, who finished third in the Girls U16 category.

Sylvie Stannage, the Laser 4.7 national youth champion, came 20th in the 104-boat Open fleet, while Boston Cortis sailed to 32nd in the 200-boat men’s Open fleet.

The Aussies will now start preparing for the World Laser 4.7 Championships in Gdynia in Poland in July.
