Carrie and Harry will also support the other classes.

Since the announcement of the 2019 Youth Team, unfortunately Paige Caldecoat has withdrawn from the Team and has provided the following comment:

“I will not be taking up the spot for the Youth Worlds in Poland. I have a commitment to my training partners in my squad and this commitment clashed with Australian Sailings policy of mandatory training camps for the Australian Youth Team leading up to the event in Poland.

I need to stick by the people that have offered me so much this year and last and therefore honour my commitment to them. The primary goal remains the same, to be World Champion. If I am lucky the Olympics will fall into place hopefully one day.”

The Board have since approved Maddie O’Shea as the Radial Girls replacement who is thrilled to be joining the team.

“I am excited to be given the opportunity to complete at the 2019 Youth Worlds in Poland and to be a member of the Youth Team,” said O’Shea.

“After a break from the Laser over the last month I am looking forward to getting back to training and competing in Japan and Greece prior to the Worlds.”

2019 Youth Sailing World Championships will take place in Gdynia, Poland from 13 - 20 July 2019.
