The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia in conjunction with Australian Sailing have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Australian Youth Match Racing Championship due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

After several attempts to reschedule the event, the ongoing border restrictions as well as Australian Sailing advice regarding State and National Championships, will mean a 2020 Championship will not be possible.

For the past four years the CYCA has been home to the National Championship with 2020 set to be the final year for the Club to host the Championship as part of a five-year event hosting contract with Australian Sailing.

During this time, the Championship has seen a resurgence in participation with nearly every State competing annually. As the host Club, the CYCA also enjoyed increased success each year, having held onto the title since 2015.

In 2021 the Championship will move inter-state with Australian Sailing set to announce a new host Club and dates in early 2021.
