2022 NSW Youth Championships off to a great start

Published Sun 02 Oct 2022

After a two year break, everyone was excited to get out on the water for day one of the 2022 NSW Youth Championships.
Christian and Gus from Belmont 16s said “we’re really excited by the conditions on the water, and excited for some competitive racing.”
Addison Newlan made the trip from Queensland to compete and spoke of the “great opportunity to race and meet new people”.
Soon after the first race began, the sun revealed itself and the 170 boats spread over three courses looked magnificent sailing on the beautiful waters of Lake Macquarie.

This comment sums up the feeling in the boat park at the end of day one “We had a good day, lots of ups and downs for us, but the regatta is full of happy people enjoying sailing.” Isla Ren from Woollahra Sailing Club said “we had a good day, a couple of firsts, not too windy not too light, it was great fun.”
