Final summer stunner brings Sail Sydney 2018 to a close

Youth and Open classes enjoyed the best of Sail Sydney 2018, with three days of sunshine and nor’easters building each afternoon on Sydney Harbour. The regatta has kicked off a busy Australian summer of sailing, from Sabots and skiffs to supermaxis prepping for the Sydney Hobart race which is fast approaching.

The Australian Maritime College announced as the naming rights partner of the 2019 Australian Youth Championship

Australian Sailing is delighted to announce The Australian Maritime College at the University of Tasmania as naming rights partner of the 2019 Australian Youth Championships. There will be a lot to look forward to on the shores of Sandy Bay in January, where the 2019 installment of Australia’s premier youth regatta will be hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.

29ers stepping it up at Sail Sydney

Entries have soared for the 29er fleet at this year’s Sail Sydney event, with competitors coming from across the country and also New Caledonia and New Zealand to compete at the regatta to be hosted by Woollahra Sailing Club from the 4th to the 9th of December.

After a year of highly competitive state youth championships around the land, Australian Sailing’s flagship youth event will be heading south to Hobart when the 2019 Australian Youth Championships presented by Australian Maritime College to commences on Thursday the 10th of January at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania.

After an epic final battle, the Sharp Australian Youth Match Racing Championship came down to one race – a rematch of the Finals from 2017, with James Hodgson/Harry Hall/Ryan Wilmot/John Cooley/Charlie Gundy looking for revenge 12 months later.

Steady breeze brings on the action on day two of the NSW Youth Championships

The steady conditions opened the doors for some spectacular racing across all classes on day two of the NSW Youth Championships presented by Lake Macquarie City Council. With only a few minor course changes the race officials squeezed in four races across all courses to make up for the races lost from day one due to the strong winds.

Youth Championships Extend Late Entry Fee Deadline.

NSW and QLD State Youth Championships have extended the late entry fee until Wednesday 19 September. The extension comes after it was decided that to make these events the biggest ever it would be appropriate to extend the late entry fee of $50.
