Getting out in nature
First up on the list, getting out in nature. Perhaps a bit obvious, but getting out in nature has major benefits for everyone; not just teenagers. Being outdoors for just 20 minutes in the open air gives your brain an energy boost comparable to one cup of coffee! Being outdoors and on the water really helps to clear your head and does wonders for your mood.
Hanging out with friends
Spending time with your friends is the ideal mood booster. OutThere Sailing encourages friends to stay together, so even if you have different levels of sailing ability, you are still able to stay on the same boat and spend the time together. Alternatively, sailing is a super cruisy way to make new friends in a casual environment. All in all, hanging out with your mates is massively beneficial to your overall health and wellbeing.
A break from on land stressors
Life can be stressful, whether that be at school, work or home; getting out on the water and leaving it all behind is the perfect way to de stress. If you are focusing on sailing a boat, being out in the fresh air and with your mates, it’s almost impossible to be stressing about “on land” problems like if you passed your English test, that’s a fact.
A great work out, without the gym!
Sailing is an unreal workout, even if you don’t realise it. Sailing is basically a cardio and weights workout, mixed into one and sitting down. Sailing is really good for overall health and fitness, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the time, you’ll know about it the next day that’s for sure.
Getting out of your comfort zone
And finally, getting out of your comfort zone. This is truly beneficial for all aspects of your life, for now and in the future. Trying something new, that you have possibly never tried before or are a bit nervous about is good! Doing things that are out of the ordinary help you to grow as a person and become the best version of yourself!
