OutThere Sailing is the new kid on the block

Published Fri 23 Aug 2019

OutThere Sailing is the new kid on the block. This program was created for 12-17 year old’s who are keen to try out sailing in a non-competitive, social setting. OutThere Sailing is about having fun, hanging out with your mates, making new ones and doing something different.

Following a massively successful pilot year in Victoria, clubs all around Australia are now starting to run this program. Each club will be running the program slightly differently, but most are using a bunch of different boats such as Powerboats, Dinghies, Keelboats, SUP’s, Windsurfers & more. The program is focused on the social aspect of sailing, not the competitive side. Participants will be able to choose what types of things they want to do out on the water, which boats they want to use and you are able to stay with your friends regardless of what level of sailing you are both at – that means if you bring a friend who has never sailed before, you will still be able to be in the same boat!

Social media is also a huge part of this program, we want you guys to help us create cool content. Participants can post the photos they take, and we will repost them using the hashtag #outtheresailing, we will also be shouting out accounts who take photos and running a bunch of different Instagram competitions over the season. The Instagram is basically created to show off what OutThere is about and what our participants are getting up too!

In essence, OutThere Sailing is about hanging out on a boat with your mates. If that sounds like something you would be into, check out the links below.
